Negus, New York, marine chronometer with 8-day winding indicator, mounted in original gimbaled brass tub and three-tier brass bound mahogany box with Negus plaque, drop handles, silvered dial of approximately 5 inch diameter signed "T.S. & J.D. Negus New York #1163," spade and poker hands, KWKS, free-sprung, fusee-drive with spring detent escapement, bi-metallic compensation balance with blued helical hairspring, s#1163 with matching number to dial, inside tub and on box. Comes with ratchet winding key.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, good winding indicator function, fine cosmetic mvt condition overall, excellent dial with light surface spotting and minor silvering loss at edge not visible when the bezel is in place; nearly mint hands; fine tub and gimbals with plating loss to brass in most areas; box with mild fine split to upper portion, otherwise in excellent cosmetic condition overall.
